Here’s a short video I made for some lunchtime filler for Ollie, with some personal info for Kelly and others who wanted to hear about my plans for Etape and my 2011 trip. I hope it’s interesting!

NOTE! My bib number is 1060! Come say hi – look for a polka dot helmet, Black Look586, and Ex Machina Racing on my bum (black knicks). Top will be black or white Ex Machina Racing top – TDF Tips is on the top so it’s hard to miss!

The TDF Tips Survey – You Guys Rock

In the video I chat about the survey (and yes, I say “um” a lot). I want to really re-iterate my thanks to everyone who did the survey. You guys are awesome and it means a lot to me.

There are some great ideas in the feedback. Some I had been tossing around, or have thought about before, and you guys have now confirmed they are worth investigating. You also gave me some great new ideas I hadn’t even thought about.

The survey is still open for a few more weeks, so to all the new mailing list subscribers (welcome, to everyone who has joined in the last fortnight; there are a lot of you from Cycling Tips!) who haven’t seen the survey, please check it out here. It’s very short and will only take 2-3 minutes to complete. It will really help me drive the site in the direction you guys have indicated will be of most benefit. Remember, there are a couple of Wiggle/CRC/PBK vouchers up for grabs for a few lucky winners (AUD$25 vouchers, I haven’t decided how many yet).

Some of the ideas I am implementing already, with a couple of them probably being ready mid July, so stay tuned!

The TDF Tips 2011 Trip

I’ve added some links below for those who are interested in how I plan trips and how I manage my itinerary. This year will be interesting as, beyond being in the Alpes for Etape and Pyrenees for the TDF and maybe San Sebastian for the Clasica, there are no plans for once!

By the time you get this I’ll be sitting in the Qantas Club in Melbourne with a Chivas (and Coke ;P ) waiting to board the A380 with my girlfriend Kate.

Stand by for photos and video from the road. The videos will be pretty rough, but I’ll put something better together when I get back like the 2010 video. Any video editors or animators out there interesting in doing a better job at editing than I ever could, or making me a killer intro/outtro, please email me!

More Lunchtime Video Filler

ATW 2010
Fun trip, but weather was a let down.

Etape 2010
Horrible, horrible day.

Etape 2009
Super fun day! 3rd ascent of Ventoux in 3 days, felt it up the first climb but got better as the day wore on. Epic weather too.
