What to take on a cycling trip
Are you a terrible over packer?
Do you pack for every “what if”?
I am a TERRIBLE over packer, and I know I am not the only one. In this day and age of reduced baggage allowance (I still remember coming home from LA with 72kg, no excess!), we need to be prudent with out baggage.
So I made a new video* on packing for your bike trip. It's specifically about the Tour de France and Etape du Tour but will help you work out What to take on a cycling trip for any trip. It's not perfect and doesn't cover everything but gives you an idea about how to pack smart and light.
I also made a packing list you can download and print off. It shows the Spare Essentials, some tips and also has a bunch of blank pages for you. It's a 600kB pdf download.

This is mainly what I want you to avoid.

Read this to see how a master does packing right and this post from Leo of Zen Habits.
*This took 4 takes as I ran out of memory on the CF card, then the camera crapped out for no reason, then the battery went flat.
